BEIRUT: The leader of Hezbollah slammed Wednesday the European Union for designating his party as a terrorist organization and said the move gave Israel a license to launch agression against Lebanon.
?European states have given legal cover to any Israeli aggression against Lebanon and renders them complicit in any assault on Lebanon or resistance,? Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said.
Twenty-eight EU foreign ministers unanimously agreed Monday to put the military wing of Hezbollah on a terrorism blacklist.
The decision was driven by concerns over the party?s alleged role in a bus bombing in Bulgaria last year and its intervention in the Syrian war.
